Thermography

Thermography plays a key role in non-destructive investigations that are subject to the rules UNI EN 473 / ISO 9712.
The thermographic survey is today applied in many sectors: photovoltaic industry and energy efficiency, environmental analysis, energy saving, building renovation, building inspections, troubleshooting and losses but also industrial chemicals, art, aviation, automotive.
The principle is based on measurement of the anomalies of the distribution of surface temperature of an object, when it is stressed thermally.

This technology represents an effective and inexpensive diagnostic, in various applications, from power management, quality of products and goods to the survey, the preventive maintenance of equipment and safety in the workplace. By the use of infrared cameras it is therefore possible to make visible and analyze the emission of energy in the form of infrared rays, which all bodies emit, otherwise invisible to the human eye.

In detail the activities carried out for photovoltaic are:

  • Analysis of the infrared radiation emitted by the components of the system
  • Identification of defects in solar panels
  • Verification of overheating due to electrical contacts, diodes by-pass in short circuit and welding problems
